OnTrac Tracking

Track and get real-time status updates for OnTrac shipments.

24hTrack is a free lookup site, not OnTrac. We don't sell or deliver parcels — we show you the scans the carrier has published.

What is OnTrac?

OnTrac is a United States parcel carrier built specifically for e-commerce last-mile delivery, and it describes itself as "The #1 Alternative Carrier Network for Ecommerce" and the largest alternative carrier network in the country. "Alternative carrier" is the industry term for a delivery company that competes with the national giants on residential parcels rather than on documents or freight.

The brand you see today is the result of a merger. OnTrac Logistics ran the West Coast; LaserShip ran the East Coast and acquired OnTrac in 2021. The two networks were combined during 2022 into a single transcontinental e-commerce service, and in 2023 the companies announced they would operate under one name — OnTrac. That is why some parcels still carry a number in the old LaserShip style while newer ones look different: they are the same company now.

OnTrac sells to retailers, not to shoppers. You cannot walk in and post a parcel with it, and you did not choose it — the store you ordered from did, because an alternative carrier is often cheaper and faster on residential routes than a legacy ground service. Its current line-up is OnTrac Ground for residential e-commerce, Ground Essentials as a cheaper deferred option, 7-Day Play for seven-day-a-week delivery, custom logistics work including healthcare and international mail, and OnTrac Express, a two-to-three day coast-to-coast service the company says is coming in 2026.

Ships for: Online retailers and marketplaces that use alternative carriers for residential delivery, Third-party logistics providers and fulfilment centres shipping direct to consumers, Brands routing parcels away from legacy ground services to cut a day of transit

Typical delivery time: OnTrac positions its ground product as up to two days faster than legacy carrier ground services, and says the OnTrac Express service launching in 2026 will run coast to coast in two to three days. The 24hTrack platform does not yet hold enough delivered OnTrac parcels to publish a median transit time of our own, so those are the carrier's figures rather than ours.

How to track OnTrac packages

Knowing where your parcel is makes it easier to plan the day you collect it. With 24hTrack you don't need an account on OnTrac's website. Paste the tracking number in the box above and we work out which carrier it belongs to and show you every scan OnTrac has published, on one page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an OnTrac tracking number look like?

There is no single OnTrac format, and that is the honest answer rather than an evasive one. Because the network was assembled from two companies, numbers in circulation follow more than one scheme: many are fifteen characters, and the two families that turn up most often on the 24hTrack platform are one starting with the letter D and one in the older LaserShip style beginning 1LS. Both are OnTrac and both go in the same box — paste the number exactly as the store gave it to you, including any letters, and the carrier is worked out for you.

Is OnTrac the same company as LaserShip?

Yes. LaserShip acquired OnTrac in 2021, the two delivery networks were merged during 2022, and in 2023 the business announced it would trade under the single OnTrac name. If your order confirmation says LaserShip, or your number starts 1LS, it is the same carrier — you do not need a separate LaserShip tracking page.

Does OnTrac have live tracking of the driver?

OnTrac publishes scan-based tracking — the events recorded when your parcel is received, sorted, loaded and delivered — and it markets predictive delivery dates on its seven-day service. What it does not publish is a public map of the van moving between stops, so no third-party tracker can show you one either. On 24hTrack you see every scan OnTrac releases for the number, in one list, with the newest at the top.

Can I collect my parcel from an OnTrac depot?

OnTrac is a delivery-only network without retail counters, so there is no general walk-in collection the way there is at a post office. If a parcel needs a redelivery or a different instruction, the request has to come from the shipper — that is, the store you bought from — because the contract for the shipment is theirs, not yours. Ask the seller to raise it with OnTrac and give them the tracking number.

My OnTrac tracking has not updated for days — is the parcel lost?

Usually not. Scans only happen when a parcel physically passes a scanning point, so a quiet stretch means it is sitting on a vehicle or in a building, not that it has gone missing. Across parcels that were eventually delivered and tracked on the 24hTrack platform, the longest silent gap was a median of about four days, and more than a quarter of them went a full week with no new scan before arriving perfectly fine. Chase the seller if a domestic parcel stays silent for more than about a week after its last scan.
